TITLE : THE POWER OF CONSISTENCY 5
Galatians 6:9 - "And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap if we faint (remain consistent, persistent) not.
While we know consistency is the key to success or accomplishment in life, sport, music, business or any field. it is also the hardest to master. Few months ago I met a skilled drummer and I was amazed how he played so excellently compared to others. I asked him "what's your secret?" and he replied " I devote some of my hours to practicing drumming every day, like many others I don't rely solely on my talents or ability" Acquisition and mastery of a skill, a technique, or a lifestyle change will require you to be a consistent athlete. So how do we stay consistent with being consistent.
Here are a few tips to help you stay consistent
TIP #1 : FIND YOUR TRUE PASSION
Marthin Luther said " A man is not fit to live if he hasn't discovered what he is willing to die for"
Passion is one of the keys to success. It is a major theme of my leadership message. It has long been said that "What you love you do well". Successful people win because they love what they do. All of them have a very strong desire or passion to succeed. They have passion for their field, their business or work. Passion is the single fastest way to spur yourself to massive success. It is something you love . Something you're excited about. We were born to do not what we are forced to do , but what we love to do . If you love what you do, you release your diving creativity. you get up early to work on or to stay up late. Find and do what you love to do.
It always easier to stick with the consistency program if you love or at least like what you are doing every week. So experiment and find what suits you best.
Steve Jobs, founder of apple computer corporation was one of the most successful
entrepreneurs in history. His success story is legendary. Put up for adoption at an early age, dropped out of college after 6 months, slept on friends floors, returned coke bottles for 5 cent deposits to buy food, then went on to start Apple Computers and Pixar Animation Studios. On June 12th 2005, Steve Jobs gave the commencement address at Stanford University. Below are a few clips from his powerful speech
"Find your true passion and do what you love to do. Sometimes life hits you in the head with a brick. Don't lose faith. I'm convinced that the only thing that kept me going was that I loved what I did. You've got to find what you love . And that is as true for your work as it is for your lovers. Your work is going to fill a large part of your life , and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do
great work is to love what you do . If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. Don't settle. As with all matters of the heart, you'll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship , it just gets better and better as the years roll on. So keep looking until you find it . Don't settle...”- Steve Jobs
When I was a teenager, I read a quote that changed my life, it went something like: "If you live each day as if it was your last, someday you'll most certainly be right." It made an impression on me, and since then, for the past few years, I have looked in the mirror every morning and asked myself: "If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?" And whenever the answer has been "No" for too many days in a row, I know I need to change something ." "Remembering that I'll be dead soon is the most important tool I've ever encountered to help me make the big choices in life. Are you so passionate??
Passion can help you to be consistent.
