TITLE : Passion - Catalyst For Leadership 1
Psalms 119 : 139 "My zeal (passion) has consumed me..." Emphasis added mine
Revelation 3:19 "As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent"
Leadership is the capacity to influence others through inspiration motivated by a passion. It is the passionate pursuit of one's unique purpose. Leaders are those that have developed a strong passion for their purpose and vision. Passion is contagious and a leader is most effective when he or she is passionate about the team, organization, and the work thereof. Passion is a leadership characteristic that cannot be faked or fabricate. It has to genuine and portrayed.
What is Passion?
Passion is a very strong and powerful feeling about a person or thing or work. It is an intense emotion, a compelling enthusiasm, fervor, ardor, enthusiasm, zeal. Passion is an object of someone's love or desire. It's the fuel of vision. Passion is a desire that is greater than opposition and stronger than death. This idea is expressed in Songs of Solomon : " Love is as strong is as strong as death....it burns like blazing fire, like a mighty flame. Many waters cannot quench love (passion).
I memorized a quote many years ago "Death isn't the greatest loss in life. The greatest loss is what dies inside of us while we live."
The truth here is that without a burning passion a part of us (vision) dies. In destiny a passionate person with limited talent will outperform a passive person who possesses great talent. This is because passionate people act with boundless enthusiasm, courage, zeal and wild fire. Being passionate about what you do is what opens doors of achievement. When you are not passionate about what you're doing, it really shows - no matter how you pretend it.
Passion is a central theme of the leadership message. It reflects our unique purpose, it points us to our purpose. It is the clue to our deeper purpose. It is the fuel of persistence, perseverance and doggedness. Your passion is inseparably linked to the problem you were created to solve. God creates you to solve a specific problem in the world not to create further problems. Passion comes from inspiration and it is a major catalyst for leadership. A catalyst is an agent that provokes or speeds significant change or action.
Life with purpose provides the fuel for passion.
When you're passionate about your purpose and vision, no one need to motivate or encourage you to work. You become your own motivation.
Personally I've understood that if I want to get people to really work with their heart and strength. My first responsibility is to love the people and stir a burning passion in them.
Passion is an unconquerable force. It is the greatest shot of adrenaline. You almost feel like you could fly without the plane. Oooohhh
Are you beginning to see the relationship between purpose, vision and passion? Passion is what enable us to pursue relentlessly our God-given vision from inspiration to action.
What are you passionate about??
Seed : Passion is the clue to your purpose.
